SP Balasubrahmanyam dies; for us to live with more than 40,000 songs

The Legendary playback singer SPB, who is filled in millions of people heart with his youthful and energetic voice, died on Friday while undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at the age of 74 in MGM Healthcare since August 5.

He has been singing and living in people’s heart for nearly 55 years with more than 40,000 songs. On August 13, after his oxygen saturation point dropped, he was taken to ICU and was connected to life support. Doctors were taking multiple steps to cure him out of the condition. On September 24 his condition became critical and his life came to an end on September 25.m

He was born in a Telugu Brahmin family in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh on June 4, 1946 and made his debut as a playback singer in 1966 for the movie “Sri Sri Maryadha Ramanna”. He has a huge fan followings across 16 languages. He holds the songs record from 1980s to 1990s starting with “Ek Duje Ke Liye”. He has composed music for 45 films in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi. He played more than 40 roles in Tamil cinema.

Doctors said the singer, who was on road to recovery, suffered severe Brain Haemorrhage. “I have come here mostly to take rest” said SPB in his last massage to thousands of his fans. You will always live in our heart through your songs forever.
