Finally, we came to the end of the exciting IPL tournament in this year after so much struggle in this situation with the help of UAE Government, IPL was managed in a bio bubble and came to its final day Successfully without any health issues for the players.
For the First Time in the IPL History there are two major things happening , Firstly Delhi Capitals qualified for the Final to face Mumbai Indians and the other one is IPL final was on weekdays.
On seeing the performance of both teams , Mumbai Indians look very strong as they already beat Delhi Capitals in both league matches and Qualifier -1 . From Delhi Capitals, there are some high expectations from this team in earlier part of the tournament due to injuries and poor batting line up they struggled at the end but they had a decent comeback against SRH and RCB in their important match. But the final match pressure is always news for them , but for Mumbai Indians they already had enough experience in these kind of situation .So let’s look at the key players for both teams to lift the trophy
Key Players for Delhi Capitals:
Ravichandran Ashwin :
He is the only player in Delhi Capitals who had experience in the IPL finals against Mumbai Indians and also won the final match in 2010 against Mumbai Indians when he played for CSK. His powerplay overs are very crucial for both the teams , as he will target Deock & Rohit wicket in early stages to restrict the high score.
He was one of the X-factor players in the previous edition of IPL but in this year , we didn’t see his man of the match performances till date , if he fires today with the batting it will help Delhi capitals to score huge total and if it was meant to be chase he must stay in the crease till 20th over.
Key Players for Mumbai Indians:
For Mumbai their playing XI are match winners, anyone can be match winners since they don’t depend on one player, even in the absence of Rohit Sharma they managed to register the victory with Ishan Kishen at the top .
Bowlers Performance will decide Mumbai Victory in Final:
For Mumbai Indians, they lost only five matches in the league stages where they failed to show bowling performance in that too their loss against SRH , was not their core bowling attack (without Boult & Bumrah). They had only one bad game in their entire tournament that was against Rajasthan Royals when Ben Stokes hit Century against them , other than that there were two super over losses for them against Punjab and RCB . If they bowl well, there are some high chances to defend the trophy for the first time .
Possible Playing XI:
Delhi Capitals might have one change from their previous game to bring fast bowlers for the leg spinner Praveen Dube to get the batting depth and extra seaming option in Dubai .
Playing XI for Mumbai Indians:
Shreyas Iyer(c), Ajinkya Rahane, Shikhar Dhawan, Shimron Hetmeyer, Marcus Stoinis,Rishab Pant,Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Anrich Nortje,Kagiso Rabada
Since they have a settled line up , they will not change their winning combination for final .
Rohit Sharma(c), Quinton De Kock, SuryaKumar Yadav, Ishan Kishen , Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya , Krunal Pandya, Nathan Counter Nile, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult , Jasprit Bumrah.
