Rohit Sharma , had undergone fitness Test in Bangalore NCA after his hamstring injury in IPL and he is monitored by Indian Physios and Rahul Dravid on his fitness and BCCI rested him for the entire Australian Tour and due to the Virat Kohli’s absence after the first Test Match , so Rohit was added only into the Test Squad for Border- Gavaskar Trophy.
Team India travelled from UAE after IPL , except Rohit and Ishant Sharma due to their fitness issue. Also , they informed that Ishant Sharma ruled out the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Rohit Fitness was keenly monitored by NCA and it’s important for Team Management to get back to his complete fitness since they have a tight schedule in the year 2021.
Will he travel to Australia?
BCCI announced that Rohit Fitness Test will be revealed on Dec 11 by NCA , if he passes the fitness test he will be available for later part of the Test series. Since, he has to follow Quarantine rules in Australia, he cannot participate in Historic pink Ball Test Match in Adelaide and according to sources there are high chances that he will join the team in second or third test match by replacing the skipper Virat Kohli in the squad .
When Rohit will Travel to Australia?
There are few process admitted for Travel limitations from India to Australia that needs to process by BCCI & Cricket Australia for the Quarantine restriction , once they resolved these travelling process then BCCI will release Rohit Sharma Travel date to Australia.Also, BCCI requested for Quarantine relaxation for Rohit to participate in Second Test Match, since Australia Government didn’t relax any rules for outsider, there is less chance for Rohit’s Quarantine rules.But , if he travel quickly to sydney. He might participate in Boxing-Day Test Match.As the player has now passed the fitness test, BCCI and selectors will take final decision on Rohit’s trip to Australia.Though BCCI is yet to officially declare Rohit’s fitness test report but according to the sources as now he has cleared his test, the board is likely to send Rohit to Australia either tomorrow or day after.
