Introvert: An Introduction


Have you ever felt different? Because you are not a so-called social butterfly, given that you prefer to stay at home than go out to attend social events. Otherwise, you choose to finish a book over a rampage party. If yes, probably you’re an introvert which means – you are more inclined to be enthralled more in an internal environment (thoughts, feelings and mood).

However, people incessantly contemplate an introvert as silent, reserved and solicitous. But not everyone is wholly introverted and extroverted. Some of you can identify yourselves in between and be intermediate (ambivert). It merely depends upon the strength of each characteristic an individual possesses.

In 1920, psychologist Carl Jung promulgated two extreme personality traits – introversion (introvert) and extraversion (extrovert). He stated that introverts settle on the piddlingly exhilarating-environment explaining: how individuals regain energy from the environment.  And the body’s physiology plays a vital role to identify oneself as an introvert.

Everyone is born with an inborn temperament, also known as innate traits which specifically play a crucial role in how an individual behaves and interacts with people – it is an individual’s free will to connect with the world to regain energy and it is solely bent upon by genes. Nevertheless, we are structured by life experiences too.

There is an old saying- a silent man is a wise man, silence is beautiful. And it is perfectly normal to be an introvert. Alongside you do not have to come out of your shell to fit into this world. Some people have achieved greater heights by being introverts.
